Project Type: Tunneling
Project Owner: Iowa DOT
Project Completed: 2015
The Iowa Department of Transportation was expanding I-29 thru Sioux City and as a part of this the city needed to reroute some of it’s largest sanitary sewer infrastructure. We directional drilled dual PVC siphons under the Floyd River and tunneled a 72 inch steel casing directly underneath an existing pork processing plant. Using trenchless technologies ranging in sizes from 12 inches to 144 inches, we installed a new sanitary sewer so that I-29 could run smoother thru the city.
